Submissions

Cave Conservation Australia advocates and writes submissions to Australian Federal and State governments on proposals which impact the health of our cave and karst environments. The submissions can be downloaded below.

Caves Australia's Submission: Feral Horses in Kosciouszko National Park. Nov 2021.

Since this submission was made the number of Feral horses in the Kosciuszko National Park has been reduced from approximately 17,000 to approximately 3000. The Heritage Horse Bill was repealed by the NSW government late 2025.

Caves Australia's Submission into the Kentbruck Wind Farm, Victoria. March 2025

Since this submission was made the Victorian Government has approved this wind farm. It is still under review by the Federal Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water.

Caves Australia's Submission on the Impacts of the Hills of Gold Wind Farm, Nundle, Timor Caves. NSW Independent Planning Commission. Dec 2024.

Since this submission was made, the Wind farm has been approved. The Tamworth Regional Council appealed the decision. It took the NSW Independent Planning Commission and the Hills of Gold developer to the NSW Environment Court in March 2026. The Court ruled against the Council. The local community is still fighting this windfarm:

Caves Australia acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional owners and custodians of the land, rivers, and sea on which we live, and we pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge and respect the deep spiritual connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have to Country, especially to caves.
